Paul Marshal would have liked nothing better than to just disappear. To be in complete isolation somewhere waiting to die. But when his mysterious Uncle and master-assassin mentor, James Richardson, offers him a job, he chooses to take it.

His first paid hit will take him all the way across the world to Venice, Italy where a criminal organization called The Dimenticato, or The Forgotten, rule the streets and run a kidnapping and prostituition ring. His target is Luca Lombardo, the leader of the group.

To Paul it seems simple. This man has caused pain and destruction to countless. He needs eliminated. But the truth behind it all quickly proves to be much more complex than Paul could have ever guessed. In order to survive and succeed in his mission, Paul must become more than flesh and blood.

He must become something else entirely. He must become the thing that haunts the night. The very thing that even the most evil and terriying individuals fear. A shadow. A Shadow of Justice.
