It has been a busy and exciting season in the Porter household, and not just in the world of writing. Our baby boy, Monte, has officially mastered crawling, and he is on a mission to explore every corner of the house. This includes every outlet, wire, and anything small enough to swallow that he can put in his mouth. He is determined to keep up with his big sister and cousins, and watching him try is both heartwarming and hilarious. Life feels a little like organized chaos, but it is the kind of chaos that makes life richer. For me, it is everything.

On the writing front, I am about 20% of the way into my next novel. After sixteen thrillers, this one is something completely new for me…a romance. It is my very first time writing in the genre, and I am finding it both challenging and inspiring. The characters are already surprising me, and I cannot wait to share more as the story unfolds. Thankfully my wifey is a staunch romance reader and is helping me keep the story on track.

In addition to the novel, I am working on bringing back my weekly free short stories here on the website. My goal is to offer something fresh for readers every week. Short stories give me the chance to experiment with different tones, genres, and ideas between my bigger projects, and they keep my creativity sharp. I am committing to one this week by end of day Friday so keep your eyes open!

I am also developing a brand new novella series that ties directly into my Casey Norris detective series. These stories will be longer than a short story but not as long as a full novel, making them perfect for a quick yet satisfying read. My plan is to release one each quarter, starting in Q4 of this year, and I am already brimming with ideas for the first installment. These will ready like episodes of criminal minds with each novella being a new case that Norris and the team are taking on. I am excited to dive into these adventures and give you a deeper look into his world!

Recently, I released Framed in Fiction, which was something totally different for me. It is a novelette due to its length and is sure to keep you turning those pages. I have included a link down below if you want to check it out!

I am feeling generous at the moment, and so I am also running a free promotion for Their Last Spring Break this Friday through Sunday. If you have not read it yet, this is the perfect opportunity to add it to your collection free of charge!

Beyond the books, I have been spending a lot of time building a community on TikTok at Tyler Porter Writes. It has become a place where I share behind-the-scenes looks at my writing life, updates on projects, tips for other writers, and the occasional bit of book talk. If you enjoy connecting with authors in real time, I would love to see you there!

There are so many projects in motion right now and even more on the horizon. I am more excited than ever about what is coming, and I am grateful to have such a supportive community of readers and friends on this journey with me. Thank you for being here, for reading, and for sharing these stories with others. It means the world!
